Geosteel L.L.C. Rustavi-Georgia, placed an order for the entire inspection of the Electric Arc Furnace evacuation system including Ladle Furnace and complete dedusting plant. Mr. Kaercher checked the primary off-gas as well the secondary fume evacuation via canopy hood. Downstream the forced draft cooler, common duct work, the bag house and I.D. fan. According to the findings a report with improvements for a cleaner environment was handed over. The improvement work is in progress.

PRODIN (Johannesburg-South Africa) placed an order for water distribution calculation by our unique KE-Optiflux program of a water cooled off-gas duct work for a smelter furnace.

For Kautz GmbH, a manufacturer of steel plant parts, Mr. Kaercher received an order for Basic-Engineering of a new water cooled EAF-Roof for Benteler AG in Lingen, Germany. The existing Roof construction of heavy box-type plate design should be replaced in a “State of the Art” tube construction.
The Roof structure of O.D 7.4 m in tubular construction incl. tube-gap-tube panels, Furnace Elbow and centre piece. According to the available cooling water quantity a cooling water distribution calculation for the entire system was performed. Considering the EAF operation and Heat flux the calculations and overall design were successful for a long service life.
Commissioning took place in September 2017 and after an operating period of more than 16 Months the Roof works trouble-free.
